Looks like the former CM and her life continues to inspire people. First, it was Priyadarshini’s Iron Lady with Nithya Menen as the lead, followed by AL Vijay’s Thalaivi with Kangana Ranaut. Even the veteran director BharathiRaja showed some interest in making a biopic on Jayalalitha and now, there’s another biopic named Sasilalitha, This one, directed by K Jagadeeswara Reddy. A poster and teaser announcing the film — titled Sasi Lalitha — was released a couple of days ago.
A source says, “This film will be a two-part one, and chronicle the lives of Jayalalithaa and her aide, Sasikala. Jagadeeswara Reddy had also announced a biopic on Tollywood star and former CM of Andhra Pradesh, NT Rama Rao, and his wife Lakshmi Parvathi, titled Lakshmi’s Veeragrandham.”
Interestingly, Ram Gopal Varma, whose last film was Lakshmi’s NTR — again based on the life of NTR and Lakshmi, had announced a movie on Sasikala!
