Actor Vikram’s son Dhruv Vikram is all set to make his debut with Adithya Varma, the remake of Telugu cult movie, Arjun Reddy.

Arjun Reddy which was remade in Hindi recently as Kabir Singh starring Shahid Kapoor gained thunderous response whereas a lot of the people called the movie poor because of certain scenes in the movie and how the movie was projected. Now, the movie which is remade in Tamil with Dhruv Vikram in the lead is gaining all the attention.

Talking about the movie, Actor Vikram spoke that the movie will be different than the other two though it is a remake.

He said: “Adithya Varma will actually be a little more innocent than both Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy. Dhruv is more a college student than both Vijay Deverakonda and Shahid Kapoor. Even director Sandeep Vanga felt that Dhruv was most suited to play this role. Dhruv’s character won’t have the bravado or overt machismo seen in the other two films. Although it is a remake, there are no attempts to amp up the shock value. So, I feel the reaction won’t be the same here.

When asked if he and Dhruv chose Adithya Varma because of its universal appeal, the Saamy actor revealed, “It’s a remake of a cult film. I don’t think it was one of those films that ran because of sensationalism. The audience in favour of Arjun Reddy was not restricted to a particular class or gender. Everybody loved the treatment of that love story.”

For showing up everyday, never giving up, always pushing me to do better, never allowing anyone to settle for less, keeping the vision alive, never losing sight of the bigger picture, never allowing me to lose hope, for giving me and making me ‘Adithya Varma’, leaving no stone unturned, for always having my back and for teaching me everything you have and continue to. None of this would have been possible without you. Someone asked me where your name was in the teaser after he knew how much of yourself you gave for this film everyday… I said it’s right behind mine and everything I do. Happy Father’s Day Appa. I hope I do you proud.

Adithya Varma is directed by Gireesaaya, who is a former assistant of Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Earlier, the movie (titled Varmaa) was announced with director Bala. However, the movie was scrapped after a major fallout between director Bala and producers E4 Entertainment.

Meanwhile, Actor Vikram became the second actor after Aishwarya Rai to confirm that he is playing a part in Mani Ratnam’s dream project Ponniyin Selvan.
