Veteran Singer P. Suseela to be honoured

The Veteran Singer P.Suseela will complete 65 years in the Cinema Industry and will be honoured with a grand function in the city soon.

The Padma Bhushan awardee started her career in 1953 with a Tamil film Pettra Thai and rendered more than 25,000 songs in all Indian languages. The 84-year-old ace singer has also entered the Guinness Book of Records for having sung the maximum number of tracks in south Indian languages.

The interesting part is that the show will be organized by Suseela’s avid fan Veera Shekar through his media as a way to pay tribute to the singer.

The show is scheduled on May 19 at Chennai University Centenary Hall, with the who’s who of the south film industry attending.
