Tamil actress has amazed the audience with their sizzling on-screen presence. Be it their dance move or their acting they have been able to keep the audience speechless with their superb skills. However, it is less known that many of our favorite actresses are highly qualified and possess degrees from highly reputed institutions. .It is very difficult to imagine an individual who is brilliant at academics, but also exceptionally good when it comes to showing business and entertainment.  Here are some of the most extremely talented and famous South Indian actresses and their educational qualifications.


Nayanthara is one of the most prominent faces in Kollywood and is widely known in Tollywood and Mollywood also. It is less known that the Viswasam actress finished her education before stepping into the industry. Nayan has a B.A in English Literature from Marthoma College.

Anushka Shetty

The Devasena’s fame from the popular Baahubali franchise is highly talented at the same time extremely qualified. The actress holds a BCA degree from Mount Carmel College Bangalore.  She wished to do PG in Computer Science but was not fulfilled.


The Oh Baby! fame has definitely established a career in the Tamil and Telugu film industries and is a recipient of several awards including four Film fare awards. She has emerged as a leading actress in the South Indian film industry. Samantha Ruth Prabhu is an actress and model who has completed her graduation in Commerce from Stella Maris College Chennai.


Tamannah is not only a big name in the Tamil film industry but also has done a large number of hit Hindi movies in recent times. She has completed her schooling from Maneckji Cooper Educational Trust School, Mumbai. Later she has done graduation in Bachelor of Arts from National College, Mumbai.

Kajal Aggarwal

With blockbuster hits such as Thuppaki, Maattrraan and Mersal Kajal Aggarwal is affectionately called “The Queen of South Indian Cinema” she has also worked in Bollywood movies like “Singham”, “Special 26″. She obtained a degree in Mass Media from K.C. College, Mumbai. From her college days, she began her modeling career. She has planned to study MBA in Brand Management but has become a film actress.


Trisha Krishnan who is one of the highest-paid actresses in the South industry holds a BBA degree from Ethiraj College for women in Chennai. The actress wanted to pursue criminal psychology but eventually went on to pursue a career in films.

Rakul Preet Singh

The NGK actress has indeed become a crowd favorite in the South and has established an independent market in Kollywood and Tollywood. She was also seen recently in Bollywood opposite Ajay Devgn De De Pyaar De. The actress holds a degree in mathematics from Jesus and Mary College in Delhi.

Amala Paul

Known as one of the most versatile Actresses in South India Amala Paul has managed to please the audience with hits such as Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi, VIP and Ratsasan. Her upcoming film Aadai is highly anticipated by all the fans. Amala paul joined St Teresa’s college, to pursue a B.A. degree in communicative English.

Taapsee Pannu

The actress who has worked in award-winning films such as Aadukalam, Aarambam, and Pink is one of the actresses that have a Pan India film working in Kollywood, Tollywood, and Bollywood. Before stepping into cinema Taapsee Pannu studied computer engineering and after completing her graduation, she even worked as a full-time software engineer.

Sai Pallavi

Sai Pallavi is not just a sizzling beauty but is a true ” beauty with brains”. With record-breaking hits such as Maari 2 and NGK Sai Pallavi was aware of the impact of education on one’s life so while being an actress who made her presence felt in the industry. She also decided to become a doctor and done MBBS in TBILISI State Medical University in Georgia.
