Shocking: Dhoni left out of the T20I squad

BCCI on Friday announced the squad for the upcoming T20I series against West Indies followed by the Test, T20I series against Australia in Australia.

For the West Indies T20I series which starts by November, Kohli is being rested and the Indian wicket-keeper MS Dhoni was not picked. Rohit Sharma will captain the team. Due to the excellent domestic numbers, Shahbaz Nadeem and Krunal Pandya get a maiden call-up.

This was not a shocker for many of us because of Dhoni’s form in the past two years. The man who once carried the hopes of Indian cricket couldn’t find his golden touch and struggled for a long period of time. Now, this makes Dhoni’s selection to the World Cup T20 in 2020 uncertain.

Another interesting decision was the inclusion of Rohit Sharma in the Test squad for the Australia tour. This probably will be the last chance for the Hitman to prove himself at the red-ball cricket.

He is also in India A squad which will play New Zealand A soon.
