India defeat West Indies to win the series 2-0

It was yet another convincing home series victory for India, and the hosts took their winning tally to 10 consecutive home series win by destroying the West Indies by 10 wickets.
There was nothing much for the West Indies to do. After failing miserably in the first Test, the team did come back well in the second Test to put on a fight, thanks to Holder and Chase’s partnership.

After opting to bat first, West Indies had a decent start with every single batsman getting into double figures. Chase and Holder teamed up and troubled the Indian bowlers by adding 100-odd runs together to the total. While Holder made 52, Chase went on to make an excellent ton, scoring 106 before getting out for a brilliant delivery from the man of the match, Umesh Yadav.

After 19 years, Umesh Yadav became that Indian bowler to pick up 10- wicket-haul in a home series. He grabbed six wickets in the first innings, and Kuldeep Yadav picked up three wickets.

In response, India had a shaky start as the hosts lost both Rahul and Pujara early. With Kohli scoring 45 and the youngster smashing 70, India recovered. After their dismissal, Rahane and Pant added another 100-run partnership to take the team near to 300 and with that India was on top at the end of day 2.

The West Indies pacers- especially Captain Holder who picked five wickets- found their rhythm right on Day 3 morning to dismiss India for 367.

Umesh Yadav didn’t start with the six-wicket haul alone, he came back in the second innings to pick up four wickets, to make it a 10-wicket-haul. He was accompanied by Jadeja’s three, Ashwin’s two and Kuldeep’s one.

With only 70-odd runs to win, the Indian openers made sure to stay till the end, and crossed the victory-mark with ease.

This series will go down as one of the best performance of the Indian team with a lot of positives.
